BeerHeadZ are proud to announce our third venue has opened in Nottingham. The pub, located in the historic grade II* listed ‘Cabman’s Shelter’, part of the Nottingham Railway Station, opened on time yesterday at 12pm, despite two hand pumps only arriving for install at 11.20. Talk about cutting it fine! Our first customer was Mr Downing, dad of manager Greg, who was duly served with a pint of Abbeydale Restoration at the crack of noon! The first beer to run out was Tiny Rebel Juicy, closely followed by the aforementioned Abbeydale. We had a great crowd in all day and met some lovely people. Hopefully they liked what they saw and tasted and will be back as friends. Initial opening hours will Sun-Thu 12.00-22.00 and Fri & Sat 12.00-23.00. We will monitor this and extend our hours if demand is …

Price cut on beers

Budget? We’ll drink to that!

BeerHeadZAnnouncements, Beer, Events, News Leave a Comment

Despite drinkers up and down the country fearing another hike in beer duty in yesterday’s budget, the Chancellor announced that duty has been frozen (until the next budget at least). BeerHeadZ have decided to add to this good news by actually CUTTING the price of a pint by 20p to celebrate the opening of the new BeerHeadZ Nottingham to be followed in the New Year by Melton Mowbray and Lincoln. Reducing our prices, however, means we are no longer going to be able to extend our current 10p pint discount to loyalty card holders (which we have held for over three years) beyond December 1st. But be assured that there will be great offers in the future, starting very soon with a special promotion from the Cat Asylum brewery. Please remember that BeerHeadZ serve all our beers in oversize, lined …

Work starts at BeerHeadZ Nottingham

BeerHeadZAnnouncements, News Leave a Comment

We are delighted to announce that after weeks of delays, we have finally started work at BeerHeadZ Nottingham Station. The latest BeerHeadZ project wiil be in the former Cabman’s Shelter, situated on the corner of Carrington Street and Queen’s Road, and will feature three cask beers, three trad ciders, four craft keg lines and an ecclectic mix of goodies from the fridge. We hope to be open within four weeks so stay posted for the latest news. Unfortunately, our venture in Lincoln is getting rather bogged down. After both licensing and building consent going to committee due to objections, BeerHeadZ won both applications. Despite this, there has now been an appeal lodged against the licensing decision which now has to be heard in court. It is now highly unlikely that BeerHeadZ Lincoln will be open before Christmas. However, things are …

BeerHeadZ Nottinham license hearing

BeerHeadZ Nottingham gets license.

BeerHeadZAnnouncements, News, Pubs Leave a Comment

BeerHeadZ Nottingham took a step closer to opening today by acquiring its premises license to sell alcohol. The license application received just one representation so had to go to hearing at Loxley House, Nottingham (coincidently also next to the Railway Station). BeerHeadZ’ corner was championed by our friends from Nottingham CAMRA and East Midland Trains, but inexplicably the person who made the representation couldn’t even be bothered to turn up to argue his case. Ultimately, the hearing committee took about two minutes to consider the case and grant the license, wishing us luck in our venture. Plans can now go full steam ahead (forgive the pun) and we’ll keep you posted along the journey. Toot toooooot!!
